Pears New Pack Design and Line Extension
Brand team developed two hero packs with an agency with no internal design support, and brought it through HUT and design lock.
After a quick analysis, I determined the two packs were unmanufacturable and would need a complete redesign. In addition, 2 new sizes with a different pump were added to the range.
As an added requirement, the brand team asked me to create a PET version of an existing eCommerce neck designed for HDPE bottles. I needed to solve engineering issues in order to make the neck work in PET. In the end, that neck became the design standard for all PET e-commerce necks.
We were able to get to market launch early and reduce the pack weight by 60%, all while moving the brand into the e-commerce space and meeting all DFM requirements, OTIF.
